What chess software is best for analyzing my chess games?

Chess is a remarkably versatile game, as evidenced by its longevity and its available playing options today. Online chess is becoming more common, and with the improvements in artificial intelligence, computer chess games, e.g. the Excalibur chess line, are becoming increasingly attractive gameplay options.

I must be able to set the position and find out what the best move of myself or my opponent would have been at every step of the game. I.e: set the board anyway I need to and analyze from there.

the best software is fritz.its a little pricey,but well worth it if you really want to improve your game.

Hey Fritz is highly touted. I got Fritz 10 for $17 because Fritz 11 is out. Unless you are about 2000+ rated 10 will be good 4 U for many years.
